[Also in Group IX] In a method of making card wires for card clothing, the end portions 3 of the side limbs 2 of a U-shaped circular section card wire having a bottom portion 1 are stamped to form a rectangular section. The card wire is then inserted into the clothing 4 and the projecting ends 5 are bent about the elbow 6 and ground at their tips 7. In a modification the end portions of the limbs may be of a triangular or elliptical crosssection.</p> |
