FIELD: methods of treatment of surfaces of friction units; mechanical and transport engineering; repair and preventive maintenance of various equipment. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation of repair and restoration compound containing base oil and powder including amorphous silicon dioxide and catalyst followed by delivery of this compound to friction zone and forming coat on friction surface under standard operating conditions; powder used in this method is prepared from industrial reagents including additionally magnesium silicates, ferrosilicates and aluminosilicates at the following ratio of components, mas.%: amorphous silicon dioxide, 20-70; magnesium silicates, 10-50; ferrosilicates, 5-25; aluminosilicates, 2-15; and catalyst, the balance. Amount of catalyst does not exceed 0.01%. Used as catalyst are industrial modifications of carbon or mixture of modifications: graphite and black carbon. Dispersity of powder used for repair and restoration compound is up to 40 mcm. Amount of powder reaches 30 mas.% of compound and base oil being the remainder.
