<p>A tamper-evident dispensing closure system (20) is provided for a container (22). The system (20) has a body (30) for extending from the container (22) at the container opening (28). The body (30) defines a dispensing orifice (44), a channel (62), and a retention member (74) projecting over a portion of the channel (62). The system (20) includes a lid (40) for being moved between a closed position and an open position. An anchor member (152) is provided for being received in the channel (62) and has an engaging portion (156) for engaging the retention member (74) when the anchor member (152) is received in the channel (62). At least one frangible web (160) initially connects the anchor member (152) with the lid (40) so that the frangible web (160) braces when the lid (40) is initially lifted from the closed position.</p> |
