The wrapping appliance (7,8,9) wraps a length of foil (11), such as stretch film, once or several times round a sack (10) filled with contents. The base of the foil sack (17) is tightly tied (14,15)enabling the sack to be lifted. A conveyor (1,2) conveys the foil sack towards the wrapping appliance and is connected to a control (18). The wrapping appliance has two holders (8) holding the roll (9) of foil.
