The invention relates to an injection unit in an injection moulding machine. The aim of the invention is to provide an injection unit of a moulding machi ne with an injection device embodied in the form of a piston/worm which is driv en axially and rotationally in a housing, wherein a separate dosing and mixing device for the dosing of additives is provided, without being forced to seal movable parts with respect to the outside so that melt does not exit. This i s achieved by arranging a distancing element between the non-return valve of t he worm and the piston; the length thereof corresponding at least to the stroke of the injection device, said distancing element having at least one flow channel enabling a fluidic connection to be established in each position wit h a second flow channel which initially extends radially in an outward directi on and then parallel to the movement and guide area of the piston as far as an area between the nozzle and the piston. The flow channel extends through the mixing and dosing device arranged in an adjacent position to the movement an d guide area of the piston.
