The invention relates to the use of desoxypeganine, as a free base or as an acid addition salt, for treating cerebral, central nervous or psychiatric symptoms, deficiencies or disorders, which occur following absorption of psychotropic substances, resulting from occasional or chronic abuse of drug, narcotic or medecine, from side effects of normal use according to prescription, especially repeated or continued use of medecines, or from the effect of use not according to prescription, especially repeated or continued use of medecines, or resulting from acute intoxication by toxic psychotropic substances or from chronic influence of toxic psychotropic substances in humans or other vertebrate animals.
