A method of manufacturing an information carrier (1), the method comprising the following steps: a. receiving identification information (10, 11), b. receiving dummy bytes (9) of predetermined value, c. calculating parities (12) on the basis of the identification information (10, 11) and dummy bytes (9), d. adding the parities (12) to the identification information (10, 11), e. outputting the identification information (10, 11) and parities (12), f. providing the information carrier (1) with the identification information (10, 11) and parities (12), characterized in that the identification information (10, 11 ) is arranged so as to be spread over the information carrier (1). 8. A method as claimed in Claim 9, characterized in that the dummy bytes (9) have a non-zero value, particularly the value FF in hexadecimal notation. 9. An information carrier carrying identification information (10, 11), the identification information (10, 11) being arranged so as to be spread over the information carrier (1), characterized in that the identification information (10, 11) comprises parities (12) calculated on the basis of the identification information (10, 11, 13). 10. An information carrier as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that the identification information (10, 11) comprises permanent information (10, 11) and in that the user information (7, 8) comprises rewritable information (7, 8). 11. An information carrier as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that comprises address information (50) and disc information (51).
