SORBENT AND METHOD FOR SURFACE CLEANING FROM HYDROCARBON IMPURITIES

The invention relates to sorbents for hydrocarbons such as oil and petroleum products and can be used for cleaning aquatic media and solid surfaces from impurities. The inventive polyurethane sorbent is embodied in the form of a product of interaction of one or several polyetherpolyols having a molecular mass ranging from 300 to 6000 and containing from 2 to 5 hydroxyl groups per molecule with aromatic isocyanate containing from 2 to 3 isocyanate groups per molecule and water at a mass ratio of 1:0.5-2.0:0.083-0.25 respectively, and having an apparent density equal to or less than 20 kg/m<3 >and a porous part with pore dimensions equal to or less than 50 mkm and representing not less than 50 % of the total number of pores. Said polyurethane sorbent can be embodied in the form of a block, crumb or powder. The inventive method for cleaning aquatic media and solid surfaces from hydrocarbon impurities consists in treating said impurities with the polyurethane sorbent.
