Welding device comprises a supply unit with a welding transformer (3) and a pair of commutators (5,5') with a welding electrode unit and a control electronic unit (10). One commutator (5) is arranged in the feed line (8) and the other commutator (5') is arranged in the removal line (9) of the welding electrode units (6,6'). The welding electrode units are assigned to the welding points of a workpiece (7) and are controlled using the control electronic unit. Preferred Features: The pair of commutators are arranged after the welding transformer as well as in the primary current circuit. The commutator is a thyristor, triac, IGBT, other electrical or mechanical commutator, or cooling element.
