Running-in of new rings and travelers on ring spinning machine from reduced speed includes automatic adjustment of builder motion as speed is increased

New rings and travelers (8, 9) are run in by starting at a reduced spindle speed and gradually increasing it continuously or in a number of steps to its normal production value. At the same time the speed of the builder motion (18) of the ring rail (7) is reduced from an initially raised value to its normal value to compensate for the change in yarn tension. The running-in process can take place over several doffs. An Independent claim is also included for a ring spinning machine with a programmable drive with a controller (22) used for running-in rings (8) and travelers (9).
