The system for the filling of application containers with a viscous substance has an ejection element for pushing the substance from a filling container into the application container. The application container has a syringe which comprises a cylinder (20) with at least one sideways projecting gripping element (43). The ejector element comprises at least one coupling element housing (44) to accommodate the gripping element. The ejector element guided in the filling container (12) closes off a free cross section (16) of the filling container and is sealed relative to the filling container. An independent claim is included for a syringe with a cylinder used as an application container for the proposed system.
