The invention relates to a box (1), especially for damp towels packed in bags, consisting of an upwardly open container (2), an outer lid (3) which is placed on the container (2), and an inner lid (4) which is coupled to the outer lid in such a way that it can be opened independently from the outer lid (3), and which reversibly closes an opening (32) provided in the outer lid (3). The outer lid (3) is provided with a button (6), and the inner lid (4) and said button (6) are connected in a non-positive, detachable manner. The button (6) is formed in such a way that at least one component of the button (6) can be displaced by the inner lid (4) in a plane which is parallel to the plane formed by the closed inner lid (4), in such a way that the non-positive connection between the inner lid (4) and the component of the button (6) is released. An elastic element (5) is provided between the inner lid (4) and the outer lid (3), said element pressing open the inner lid (4) which is thus released.
