The invention relates to a closing device for a container with an opening, especially for a cooking pot comprising an outwardly protruding pouring edge. The inventive closing device has a lid for closing the opening of the container, a closing element arrangement comprising at least one first closing element, and a displacement direction for displacing the first closing element. Said first closing element can be inwardly displaced by actuating a displacement device, and moves upwards, at least in sections, during the inward movement.
