FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of optically active (1S)-2-(dialkylalumina)-6,7-dimethoxy-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolines of the general formula (I) where R means C2H5, n-C3H7, i-C4H9. Method involves interaction of (1S)-2-(dialkylalumina)-6,7-dimethoxy-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-isoquinoline hydrochloride with aluminum dialkyl hydrides HA1R2 (R is C2H5, C3H7, i-C4H9) in argon atmosphere under normal conditions in benzene medium. Invention can be used in fine organic and organometallic synthesis, in part, in synthesis of pure substances with high optical yields. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis, high yields. 1 tbl
