PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural member, of course, having high rigidity and doubly furnished with capacity to efficiently absorb energy. SOLUTION: A member body 2 a cross-section shape of which makes a roughly U-shape and an opening of which is free to close with a plate and a plurality of waveform ribs 3, 3 independent from each other arranged from one end to the other end on a groove part 2a of this member body 2 and to rise in a range not exceeding the opening from a bottom surface 2b of the grove part 2a are furnished, and a protrude part 3a of the waveform rib 3 positioned in the neighborhood of a wall surface 2c of the groove part 2a on the member body 2 out of a plural number of the waveform ribs 3, 3 is fixed on the wall surface 2c of the groove part 2.
