METHOD FOR POSITIONING FUSION CUTTING TORCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily correcting the misalignment of cutting lines of fusion cutting torches with a simple device. SOLUTION: In cutting a work 1 by moving a pair of the fusion cutting torches 4 and 5 facing each other toward the central part of the work 1, the method of positioning the fusion cutting torches 4 and 5 comprises mounting the front ends of the respective torches with laser pointers, first temporarily moving the fusion cutting torches 4 and 5 prior to cutting, comparing the traces of the laser beam generated from the laser pointers and the predetermined lines L1 and L2 for cutting and correcting the moving axes of the torches by controlling the mounting postures of the torches according to the misalignment of the predetermined lines L1 and L2 for cutting.
