PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic clock capable of determining the pointer position without increasing circuits during a period from stop of internal circuits of an electronic clock caused by lowering of a supply voltage to operation reset by charging, realizing arrangement of a generating set and the pointer position having excellent charging efficiency, and using effectively the capacity of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: When pointer operation is stopped by lowering of an output voltage of the secondary battery 12 which is a charging means, the pointers are moved to prescribed positions just before the stop. Then, when clock function is restored by rise of the output voltage, positions of the pointers showing a present time are calculated from the prescribed positions, and the pointers are moved. During the stop of the pointer operation, solar cells having two kinds of sizes are arranged, or a part where the solar cell is not arranged is provided, and thereby the pointers are stopped at the positions having excellent generation efficiency for the solar cell 11. A high load circuit is stopped before the output voltage of the secondary battery 12 is lowered below the minimum operation voltage of a CPU 101, to thereby utilize effectively the capacity of the secondary battery 12. |
