PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for simply cutting an optical fiber. SOLUTION: A discoid cutting blade 20 to cut the plastic optical fiber 10 fixed by a fixing devices 11a and 11b has a cutting surface 21. The center of the cutting blade 20 is held by the rotary shaft 31 of a motor 30 for the cutting blade, and the cutting blade 20 is rotationally driven by the motor 30. The motor 30 is held by a drive unit 40 for a Y axial direction so that it can ascend or descend in the Y axial direction. Under such a configuration, the cutting is carried out while cutting the cutting plane of the plastic optical fiber 10 by using the cutting surface 21 of the cutting blade 20. |
