PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method producing optically active sulfoxide derivatives with extremely high enantiomer excess, high yield in a simple method, and effectively producing in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: This method produces the crystal of (R)-2-[[[3-methyl-4-(2,2,2- trifluoroethoxy)-2-pyridyl]methyl]sulfinyl]benzimidazole/nH2 O (n is approximately 0-0.1) or its salt by crystallizing the (R)-2-[[[3-methyl-4-(2,2,2- trifluoroethoxy)-2-pyridyl]-methyl]sulfinyl]benzimidazole/n'H2 O (n is approximately 0.1-1.0) or its salt from an organic solution or suspension dissolving or suspending the material. |
