METHOD FOR MOLDING RESIN MOLDING PUSHBUTTON UNIT OF PORTABLE TERMINAL AND ITS MOLD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use each pushbutton part remaining connected as it is without damaging when the pushbutton is released from a mold and to resin mold a pushbutton unit having a good appearance at a good non-defective ratio. SOLUTION: The mold comprises a space 6a-1 of the pushbutton part provided in an upper mold 2, and a space 6a-2 of a flange part of the pushbutton provided in a lower mold 3. The space 6a-2 has a reverse taper-like undercut part 6d formed on a side face thereof. A method for molding the resin molding pushbutton unit of a portable terminal comprises a step of injecting a resin from a runner 7 in the spaces 6a-1 and 6a-2 through a space 6c of a hinge from the space 6b of a coupling part. In this case, air mixed in the resin is released to the undercut part 6d. The method further comprises a step of opening the upper mold 2 and the lower mold 3 after the resin is cured. Thus, the resin-molded pushbutton unit remains in the mold 3. The method also comprises the steps of lifting a back surface of the pushbutton unit by raising an insert 5, and thereby releasing the pushbutton unit from the mold 3.
