PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device for a rotating device capable of reducing the running cost by changing a position on a rotary shaft in contact with a packing, changing the packing alone, and using the rotary shaft several times, even if the position of the packing is abraded. SOLUTION: This shaft seal device is disposed in the circumference of the rotary shaft 3 in a joining position between a driving side casing 5 and a pump casing 6 in a pump 1 rotated by an electric motor. An annular recess part 11c capable fitting a lip packing 14 with an approximately L-shaped cross section therein is formed in a central opening 11c of one seal member 11 out of two annular seal members 11 and 12 installed mutually adjacent to each other in the outer circumferential surface of the rotary shaft 3, and the lip packing 14 is fitted inside the annular recess part 11c. |
