PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a functional material having a highly controllable magnetic state and a metal electroconductive state in combination. SOLUTION: An oxide R2- XAXIr2 O6 composed of R representing a rare earth metal element or the like, an acceptor or donor element A (Ca or the like) thereof and a transition metal Ir and having a pyrochlore structure is provided. In the oxide, a quantum state is attained in which the highly controllable magnetic state exhibited by R, the rare earth element or the like, and the highly electron correlative metallic electron state created by Ir and oxygen O are interactively and coexisted. The resultant material having highly controllable magnetic state and the highly electron correlative metallic state can be applied for an electronic functional material, a heat storage material or the like by utilizing the quantum phenomenon such as anomalous Hall's effect or the large specific heat.
