The unit has a concave reflector (3) with hole (4) for the passage of a sleeve (9) used to locate a bulb base (7). The unit has an earth track (10) in a metallic sheet (S) for electrical connection to one of the bulbs connections. A sleeve (E) is formed from single part of the metallic sheet which at least partially surrounds the sleeve (9) projecting into the reflector. The sheet has been treated so that its surface has similar reflection properties to that of the reflector. The treatment is an electrolytic anti-corrosion covering/method of fabricating an earthing sleeve (E). The earth track (10) is cut into a shape having a central circular part (11) with radial sides (15) separated by slits (16). The part (11) has a hole (17) through which the bulb is inserted. The sides (15) are folded from the part (11) at about 90 degrees so that they surround the sleeve (9).
