PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed reducer for a vehicle seat capable of securely transmitting drive while restricting generation of abnormal sound when the speed reducer is driven, and achieving compactness of the speed reducer. SOLUTION: In this speed reducer 32 for a vehicle seat to slide, rotation of a drive shaft 31 of a drive motor M1 is reduced by a worm 7 connected to the drive shaft 31 through a connection shaft 74 and a worm wheel 8 engaged with it to be transmitted to an output shaft, so that the seat can be displaced by a seat displacing mechanism connected to the output shaft. The worm 7 comprises synthetic resin material, and the connection shaft 74 comprises a member that is deformable to be distorted or warped. One end of the connection shaft 74 is insert-molded with the worm 7 to be integrated with it, and the other end of the connection shaft 74 is engaged with an angular hole 31a in the drive shaft 31 in an irrotational way to transmit the drive. |
