PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium and ink jet recording equipment which enable execution of a heating-pressing treatment in a short time on the occasion of executing this treatment for the recording medium having an ink receiving layer containing thermoplastic resin particles in a surface layer so as to make the ink receiving layer transparent and enable preparation of an image print having a high quality. SOLUTION: A thermosetting resin is used as a synthetic resin covering the base of the recording medium 1. On the occasion of executing the treatment for making the recording medium 1 transparent, a holding temperature of a heating-pressing means 4 for the treatment is controlled to satisfy MFT<T1 < T2 <Tr and T2 <Tb (wherein the heat resistance temperature of the synthetic resin covering the base of the recording medium 1 is denoted by Tr, the lowest film-forming temperature of the thermoplastic resin particles contained in the ink receiving layer of the recording medium 1 by MFT, the heat resistance temperature of a heating belt 43 constituting the heating-pressing means 4 by Tb, the lower limit of the holding temperature of the heating-pressing means by T1 and the upper limit of the holding temperature of this means by T2 ). |
