PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent stirring device used for an autoanalyzer and to provide a small and light-weight stirring device, which enhances the reliability and the safety of a reagent stirring operation. SOLUTION: In the stirring device, a stirring mechanism part is provided with a pulse motor which generates stirring rotation, an elastic body which transmits a driving force and which is used as the protective mechanism of a stirring rod in an abnormal drop, a detection mechanism which detects the speed of rotation and which detects the abnormal drop and the stirring rod which directly performs a stirring operation. The stirring device is provided with a motor, by which the mechanism part is moved in the vertical directions, turned and moved. The shape of a detection plate is formed into a disk shape, so that the detection mechanism which enhances the reliability and the safety of the reagent stirring operation can be miniaturized and made light-weight, a tooth-shaped protrusion part in the half of the circumference is formed along the circumference of the detection plate, and the detection mechanism is used also as a detection mechanism, which detects the speed of rotation and which detects the abnormal drop.
