PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functionally excellent beautiful greening ligueous earth retaining body capable of attaining greening by growth of plants from seeds without arresting the growth of plants, and effectively suppressing washout of sediment. SOLUTION: This earth retaining body comprises a wooden frame 1 comprising at least two front lateral logs 2 and 3 connected by at least two back vertical logs 4 and 5 and a brace material 7 to be filled back in the ground nipped by the front lateral logs 2 and 3, each of them being fixed by a fixture 8, and a sheet with seed 9 arranged on the back face of the frame 1. Seeds 12 are located on the back side of the sheet with seed 9.
