PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst body which is effective for decomposition of NOx in the air, decomposition of malodor substances or decomposition of organic solvents, agrichemicals and surfactants in water and readily handleable and is free from scattering, effusion and falling off when used. SOLUTION: In this titanium oxide fiber, y obtained by the formula (I): y=Y/(X+Y+Z) from tristimulus values X, Y, and Z in XYZ colorimetric system determined by International Commission on Illumination is >=0.35. This photocatalyst body comprises the titanium oxide fiber.
