PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact image recorder capable of recording a Large amount of images at high speed. SOLUTION: A recording material 60 wound in a roll is drawn out and transferred along a longitudinal direction. While a plurality of recording heads 46A-46C are reciprocated in a width direction of the recording material 60 (horizontally scanned), the recording material 60 is transferred (vertically scanned) at a constant velocity. Three frames of images are recorded in parallel along the longitudinal direction of the recording material 60 by discharging and adhering recording liquid drops from nozzles of each head 46 to the recording material 60. Next, a part where the three frames of images are recorded is cut off by a first cutter 54 and transferred along transfer paths 64C and 64B. A solvent included in the adhered recording liquid drops is removed by a heating drying part 50, and a transparent coating is formed to an uppermost layer of an image recording face by a laminating part 92. Thereafter, each image is cut as a unit by a second cutter 56.
