PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for certainly holding, feeding and attaching a mouth plug in a device for inserting the mouth plug in an attaching hole from the inside of a liquid filled carton to attach the same to the attaching hole. SOLUTION: The mouth plug insertion means in a liquid filling apparatus feeds the mouth plug while mechanically holding the same until the mouth plug is taken out of a mouth plug supply device to be inserted in the mouth plug attaching hole of the carton without sucking a flange part under negative pressure. A lever is used as a means for opening a holding pawl holding the mouth plug to insert the mouth plug or the on-off mechanism of the holding pawl to make insertion operation still more certain.
