PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily produce a cylinder liner excellent in both characteristics of sliding property and mechanical strength with casting at a low cost. SOLUTION: In a mold 2 using molding sand A formed in the inside of a molding flask 1, a columnar core 4 for forming the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder liner R is disposed a the center of an outer mold 3 for forming the cylinder liner R. As this core 4, the core manufactured with the molding sand A containing a spheroidal restraint 7, is used, and the cylinder liner R is produced by pouring the molten spheroidal graphite cast iron from a sprue 5 with a gravity casting method and making flow of the molten iron into a cavity 6 for cylinder liner R formed between the outer mold 3 and the core 4.
