PURPOSE: A method for upgrading a program is provided to convert old data into new data adapted to new program to be loaded in a processor using a data version adapter, thereby minimizing an appending/deleting time and preventing a service interruption. CONSTITUTION: Duplexing a duplex processor is interrupted(S91). A data version adapter is loaded to a processor 'A' having old data of an old program, and other data version adapter and new program are loaded in a processor 'B'(S92). The data version adapter reads the old data and transmits the old data to other data version adapter(S93). The other data version adapter changes a structure of the old data adapted to a new program, appends new contents to the new data, and creates/stores the new data (S94). The processor 'A' is changed into a standby state, and the processor 'B' is changed into an active state(S95). The new program loaded in the processor 'B' is executed(S96). It is judged whether new program is operated normally(S97). If new program is operated normally, the old program and the old data are deleted(S98). The interrupted duplexing is started(S99), and new program and new data are copied from the processor 'B' to the processor 'A'(S100).
