PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a characteristics measuring method, a characteristics measuring apparatus and a selector, using the same which is capable of measuring the capacitance and the insulation resistance of a capacitor at the same time. SOLUTION: A DC power source 22 acts to apply a DC voltage to a capacitor DUT and a current meter 28 measures a leakage current I1 to calculate the insulation resistance. An application relay 26 is set off, and a discharge relay 30 is set on to discharge charges stored in the capacitor DUT into an integrator circuit 32, which then measures the quantity of discharged charges to calculate the capacitance of the capacitor DUT.
