PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for cleaning a rope groove of a sheave for an elevator capable of efficiently cleaning a rope groove of a sheave wound around with a rope such as a main rope or the like by simple work. SOLUTION: One side of a mounting arm 9 is temporarily provided on a fixed body corresponding to the sheave 3 having the rope groove 4, and a supporting bar 11 is provided on an other side of the mounting arm 9 and is arranged so that a longitudinal is in parallel with a rotating axis of the sheave 3 and is separated from a rim surface of the sheave 3. Then, a holding body 12 is provided on the supporting bar 11. A holding tool 14 is held by the holding body 12, is equipped so as to advance and retreat with respect to the rim surface of the sheave 3, and is energized in a direction for approaching the rim surface of the sheave 3. Furthermore, a cleaning paddle 17 formed of visco-elastic material for sliding on the rope groove 4 of the sheave 3 is mounted on the holding tool 14. Thereby, the cleaning paddle 17 slides on the sheave 3 and cleans by operation of the elevator at a low speed and rotation of the sheave 3.
