PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid light leakage around a liquid crystal displaying part. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device is provided with pixel areas surrounded by respective gate signal lines arranged adjacently to each other and respective drain signal lines arranged adjacently to each other on the surface of a liquid crystal side of one substrate between respective substrates arranged opposite to each other through the liquid crystal, has a switching element to be operated to the pixel areas by scanning signals from the gate signal lines and a pixel electrode to which a video signal from the drain signal lines is supplied through the switching element, also has a black matrix formed so as to segment the respective pixel areas and a color filter formed at an opening part of the black matrix and a light shielding film formed on the surface of a liquid crystal side of the other substrate between the respective substrates so as to surround the liquid crystal displaying part being an aggregate of the respective pixel areas. |
