PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the occurrence of bridge in a hopper at an early stage by judging whether an ash transporting state is normal or abnormal. SOLUTION: In ash transportation, transporting operation works according to an ash depositing level in an ash transporting device 2 or ash receiving time of the transporting device 2. If a transporting state is under a normal condition, transporting pipe 3 wall temperature repeats increasing and decreasing by potential heat of ash during transportation, and if the transporting state is under an abnormal condition, temperature before transporting continues, so that the ash transporting state can be judged whether that is under a normal condition or an abnormal condition by detecting the pipe wall temperature of the transporting pipe 3. The ash transportation is under the abnormal condition, which means a state that ash is not supplied to the transporting device, namely the occurrence of bridging in a hopper 1. So that, an alarm unit 12 is actuated, and the operation of an air pump 10 is stopped.
