PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a file cover which simply manufactures the cover and which can stably maintain a shape of a back part formed in a curved state. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the file cover comprises a step of continuously integrally forming the cover 47, the back part 46a and a rear cover 48 of a cover material 4 constituted at a core 41 of a plate paper material such as a cardboard or the like in such a manner that the back part 46a is formed in a curved state. The method further comprises a step of positioning a site to become a back part of the cover material 4 between a female mold 12 formed in a curved recess shape and a male mold 13 formed in a curved protruding shape corresponding to the mold 12, heating and pressurizing the back part of the material 4, and a step of imparting a high-frequency wave to parts in the molds 12 and 13 of the material 4, thereby forming the curved back part 45a at the material 4.
