PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high concentration silica slurry which has remarkably few bond and coagulation between silica particles, and has high fluidity and excellent stability by using silica ultrafine powder, and to provide a method for producing slurry applicable to the production of the high concentration slurry. SOLUTION: The high concentration silica slurry is obtained by dispersing silica ultrafine powder having a means grain diameter D50 of <=2.0μm, and in which the diameter equivalent to 100%, i.e. D100 is <=5.0μm, and structure is not substantially formed, into a silane compound-containing organic solvent by >=20 vol.%. In the method for producing silica slurry, silica powder is added into a silane compound-containing organic solvent, and is dispersed therein under the pressure.
