PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod that has a simple structure and the small number of components, is easily assembled, inexpensive, and compact, and also to provide a stand for a dryer of clothes using it. SOLUTION: The tripod comprises a head part 1 having a substantial U shape in the plan view, one L-shaped shaft 2 of which at least one end is fixed to the inside of a root 1b of the head part 1, first and second leg parts 3a and 3b rotatably supported on the fixing side of the head part of the shaft 2, a third leg part 3c rotatably supported on the other end side, an arm 1d that is projected from a side surface part 1a on the other end side of the shaft of the head part 1 in substantially parallel with the root 1b of the head part and has a hole for supporting the proximity of a folding part on the fixing side of the shaft 2, and a support part 1a2 for supporting the other end of the shaft 2.
