INTAKE VALVE DRIVING DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate dispersion of valve clearance among cylinders by a hydraulic lash adjuster 40 at start up of an engine by setting valve lift characteristics of a intake valve 4. SOLUTION: When an intake driving shaft 21 is rotated in conjunction with a crankshaft, an oscillating cam 22 oscillates via a lift change mechanism 5. The hydraulic lash adjuster 40 is interposed between the oscillating cam 22 and an intake valve 4 in order to fill a gap between them using hydraulic pressure. Valve lift characteristics of the intake valve 4 is set to realize the zero lift condition of all cylinders where the valve lift amount of the intake valve 4 for all the cylinders to which the hydraulic lash adjuster 40 is applied is almost zero.
