PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound which has an excellent intraocular pressure- lowering action and excellent solubility in water, and is useful as medicines such as a glaucoma medicine or a hypertonia oculi medicine. SOLUTION: A 2-alkynyladenosine 5'-monophosphoric acid represented by the general formula (R is a linear or branched alkyl, a cycloalkyl or a cycloalkyl-substituted alkyl) or its salt, and a medicine containing the same as an active ingredient.
