<p>A system (1) for phonetic recognition uses principles of phonetic recognition and a general database (5) of phonetic sounds and corresponding characters, so as to recognise a phonetic sound generated by a user and identify a character corresponding to the user's phonetic sound, without requiring a personal database of phonetic sounds and corresponding characters for the user to be established in advance. The system can also recognise a tone of the phonetic sound to be able to identify a Chinese character corresponding in variation of four tones to the phonetic sound. In addition, the phonetic sound can be analysed in timbre characteristic for allowing the user's timbre to be recognised, while variation in volume of the phonetic sound can be analysed so as to tell the user's emotional condition. <IMAGE></p> |
