PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pigment for a color filter excellent in heat resistance and light resistance and giving an excellent red filter with high brightness, a method for manufacturing the same and a coloring composition for the color filter using the same. SOLUTION: The pigment for the color filter is manufactured by blending a mixture which contains a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment (A), a diketopyrrolopyrrole pigment (B) with a wavelength for a midpoint between minimum and maximum transmittance in spectral transmittance different from that of the pigment (A), a coloring matter derivative (C), a water soluble inorganic salt (D) and a water soluble organic solvent (E) essentially not dissolving the water soluble inorganic salt (D) and subsequently removing the water soluble inorganic salt (D) and the water soluble organic solvent (E). Correspondingly, the coloring composition for the color filter contains a colorant carrier composed of a transparent resin, its precursor or their mixture and the pigment dispersed in the colorant carrier. |
