摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging device for a planar optical waveguide element in which the alignment time and bonding time between the planar optical waveguide element and an optical fiber block are shortened and is made small- sized and simply structured and further advantageous in saving the cost. SOLUTION: The packaging device for alignment between the planar optical waveguide element and the optical fiber block is equipped with the planar optical waveguide element and a single optical fiber block. The planar optical waveguide element comprises an input port of an input waveguide, an output port of an output waveguide arranged on the same surface with the input port of the input waveguide, and at least one or more dummy waveguides outside the output waveguide, and the output port of the dummy waveguide is arranged on the same surface with the input port of the input waveguide and the output port of the output waveguide. The single optical fiber block is equipped with a plurality of ports corresponding to the input port of the input waveguide and the output port of the output waveguide so that the input port and the output port are coupled in alignment with the input port of the input waveguide and the output port of the output waveguide while facing each other.
