PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic warehouse of the type using transfer to a conveyor, having a mechanism for bringing the conveyor into contact with the bottom of each article and for rotating and drawing in the articles, and capable of keeping the surface of the conveyor clean without requiring an operator to do cleaning work nor reducing operation rate, and capable also of drawing in the articles. SOLUTION: The automatic warehouse includes a plurality of storage racks 10a and 10b capable of storing the articles W; a storing/retrieving means 20 by which the articles W fed from the previous process are moved to in front of the storage rack 10a or the articles W to be fed to the next process are moved from in front of the storage rack 10a; a transfer means 20 for transferring the articles W from the storing/retrieving means 20 to the storage racks or from the storage rack 10a to the storing/retrieving means 20; and a cleaning means 40 for cleaning the transfer means 20 at the appropriate time. The transfer means 20 causes the surface of the conveyor to abut the bottom of each article W on the storage rack 10a and rotates and draws in each article. The cleaning means 40 cleans the surface of the conveyor.
