GAS CUTTING-OFF DEVICE FOR CONTINUOUSLY CAST SLAB AND GAS CUTTING-OFF METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cutting-off device for continuously cast slab with which the thermal deformation of the whole device can be reduced without expanding cooling water supplying facilities and the high temperature cast slab can stably be cut off and to provide a gas cutting-off method using this device. SOLUTION: In the gas cutting-off device in a continuous casting facility, the device main body is a water-cooled structural body. Heat-shield plates having a three-layer structure in which a refractory is interposed between the heat resistant and the oxidizing resistant steel plates are set between this device body and the continuously cast slab. In the gas cutting-off method, this gas cutting-off device is used and the continuously cast slab is cut off with gas- oxygen flame blown from a blowing pipe while cooling the device main body by securing >=0.5 m/min cooling water flowing speed in the water cooling structural body.
