PURPOSE: A method for sensing the water leakage of a water supply valve is provided to automatically remove the impurities introduced into a water supply valve by turning on or off the water supply valve in the case of water leakage sensed when a washing machine is not driven, and inform a user of the defect of the water supply valve, thereby preventing the overflow of the water and safety accidents in advance. CONSTITUTION: A method for sensing the water leakage of a water supply valve includes a water level sensing step of sensing water levels sensed by a uniform time interval to store to a microcomputer in which a reference water level is stored(S1), a water leakage determining step of determining the water leakage of the water supply valve when the sensed water level is higher than the reference water level(S2), a water supply valve operating step of repeating the on/off operation of the water supply valve according to a set condition(S3,S4) and a warning step of informing a user of the reject of the water supply valve(S10). |
