PURPOSE: A mobile video/audio communication system and a video/audio controlling method using the system are provided to connect only a digital camera combined with a hands-free handset to a mobile communication terminal to perform telephone communication and to transmit video data. CONSTITUTION: A mobile video/audio communication system includes a mobile communication terminal(100) and a digital camera(200). The mobile communication terminal receives video data in a video mode, and transmits/receives voice signals to/from another communication terminal in a speaking mode. The digital camera generates the video data corresponding to an image of an object captured in the video mode to transmit the generated video data to the mobile communication terminal. When the video mode is converted into the speaking mode, the digital camera stops the transmission of the video data.
