PURPOSE: A data service system and a method for managing the same are provided to transmit data to a specific objected client, check a data reception state of each client easily through a short message, and enable a client to download only wanted data at a wanted time. CONSTITUTION: Client terminals(110,120) include memory units(111,121) for storing various kinds of contents data, are connected to a data communication network through a mobile communication network, and download various kinds of contents data through the data communication network or upload various kinds of contents data stored in the memory units(111,121) through the data communication network. A database(200) stores service-registered terminal information according to each clients, classifies various kinds of data up-loaded from the client terminals(110,120) according to corresponding clients, and stores the data. A service server(300) is interlocked with the database(200), and notifies information of the up-loaded contents data to a receiving objected client terminal of each contents data. In the case that a response signal for downloading contents data is received from the receiving objected client terminal, the service server(300) transmits corresponding contents data to the terminal.
