PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an electric motor possible to design a low-current motor to be supposed high voltage to eliminate the wasted step-up of the voltage by lowering the step-up voltage when a high voltage in a high current range is unnecessary and having excellent responsiveness. SOLUTION: This control device 11 for driving a motor 15 for outputting the steering assist force by stepping up a battery 25 with a step-up circuit 22 is provided with an inverter 20 for controlling the motor 15, a current detecting unit 24 for detecting a current value of the step-up circuit 22, and a PWM adjusting unit 23 for controlling the step-up circuit 22 to lower the voltage in response to an increase of the current in the step-up circuit 22. Step-up of the step-up circuit 22 is controlled on the basis of the steering torque. |
